Well let me start by quickly saying I could go on and on about this because it’s a very important point. I know it may seem expensive at first because you could easy do it yourself couldn’t you? Or could you? 1) Its generally heavy awkward stuff - professionals do this every day of the week so what takes you an hour takes them 20 minutes and not only that you can be assured they won’t drop it. 2) Have you checked out the cost of truck hire lately? Oh my gosh it’s not cheap, especially if you are going interstate, I decided to do it as an exercise, and the price was enough to really scare me. 3) Hire trucks might be advertised as move yourself etc etc – BUT they don’t tend to have airbag suspension and when your doing 100km/h its all shaking inside that truck!! 4) These blokes care, I mean they really do! Remember this is their living and they know only too well that breaking stuff really hurts! Finally 5) Insurance – do you have insurance for yourself to transport your gear? Because the professional operator does..

Anyway have a chew on some of those reasons weigh up the cost versus the charge and I think you will totally agree with me , it’s well and truly a good idea , or I could put it this way, if you have a really bad tooth ache would you leave it and self-administer the fix……. No, you would see a dentist wouldn’t you so why not use a professional removalist.

Cheers

It’s always a worry when moving day comes and if like on cue, down comes the rain! You have been watching the weather pattern for weeks with your fingers just a little crossed , but as usual down it comes, well try not to despair it will still happen.

Try and make sure the removalist has as shorter distance as possible to walk, for obvious reasons. Make sure you hose off any mud from the concrete. Don’t try and speed. Have a few spare towels or throw rugs that can cover tiled floors because the last thing you want is someone slipping while carrying your furniture. Try and make sure any of your outdoor furniture is undercover and dry; you don’t want to waste time drying stuff while the removalist is waiting around. Whatever you do don’t leave cardboard boxes where they can get wet because we all know what happens when the bottom drops out, that’s right it’s a mess and a stress! If you are worried about this just have a chat to someone that knows, good sturdy dry boxes are terrific.

Another thing to remember is, those truckies that are on their way to do the job might well be stuck not being able to get through because of flood waters, so before you get too super organized keep in contact with your driver!! One thing they don’t have with removalist trucks are paddles

Happy Moving

I have to say dealing with the guys at Advance Removals is unbelievable! Tell me anyone that can take a move enquiry on a Monday morning at 8.30am and by nine have a full inventory, have the right removalist selected and the job booked for in just a few days down the track.

Not only that but here is the good news, have you forgotten to mention the cement statue in the front garden that takes two burly blokes to lift? Well the guys at Advance Removals have a knack for asking the right questions to make sure everything is remembered. I have to say when someone first said to me “use a removal broker” I thought what? Why would I do that? Well in short why not, they arrange removals every day, they do hundreds of different removals. You could have a massive house just totally packed with all sorts of stuff or you could have a one bedroom unit with not much at all, it really doesn’t matter because it’s Advance Removals commitment to care for people that just shines through.

Firstly, just how much have you packed into your car? Remember if you are, like most, a “city dweller”, then your car is not at all used to the long country roads, especially when maybe not stopping at all between full and empty on the fuel tank! Make sure your car has had a good service, and along with that if you have jammed in every last minute thing it’s probably going to weigh more than usual so how are those tyres? And how is your suspension and brakes? I know when I grew up out in the bush my old dad used to make sure I understood just how important my car was to get me home safe.

Secondly, it could be a long way and trust me that one or two CDs could get real boring and not only that “BANG…..no radio reception” why not help pass the long hours on the open road with your own copy of The Castlereagh Line, Cattleman or other great radio serials which have only recently been released to the public, you can purchase this online at gracegibsonradio.com.

Thirdly, DON’T GET TIRED. Driver fatigue is a serious killer on our roads, and I bet you will be tired, you have had the stress of packing everything, you are moving to another life possibly, and one thing is for sure you’re going to be knackered! My suggestion is this, if you have worked out your route and you believe that it’s a day’s drive to get there, TAKE TWO!! This may sound silly but you will be much safer and who knows there are some genuinely lovely towns in our country and I know they keep the beer pretty cold at each and every one of them!

Interesting questions aren’t they! Well here is one of the many but important reasons why people every day are choosing to use Advance Removals. 1) They care 2) They know the driver and the boss and 3) they have your best interests at heart, and will not stop at just getting three quick quotes.

Out of the many removalists they use, they very carefully pick the man they know will do a fantastic job for you and is very familiar with your area both pick up and destination. Advance Removals have trucks from every capital city and every major regional centre. Do you have over 60 removalists on speed dial at home?

Something for everyone to think about when moving is the Silly Season. Every year it’s the same in the moving industry, there’s a shortage of resources – it’s a fact. If you are looking to shift house anywhere between November and February its best you take these few hints, because one thing is for certain, the boys at Advance Removals cannot stand upsetting anyone.

Book your move early

Get your inventory into Advance Removals quick smart

Pay a deposit to secure your truck

Start packing

When talking to Geoff Williams the manager of Advance Removals he said “nothing cannot be done, nothing is impossible, it just gets pretty tight in the silly season. In the years I have been helping move people it never changes; we just have to work harder. The fantastic thing about letting Advance Removals handle your move is that their experienced removalists do not inflate prices at any time of the year, just chat with the lads they will make sure of it!”

Just remember the team at Advance Removals are working for you!!

My name is David Clough, I have recently joined the team at Advance Removals, I want to share a little bit about myself and also about Advance Removals “The Company”. I have had a career spanning some 25 years in the sales industry, along with some years in the Transport Industry. I noticed Advance Removals on the internet when applying for my current position, and I must say that this is the most exciting company I have ever had the pleasure of working for. Advance Removals is a removal broker with a lot more. It’s a company headed up by Geoff Williams, Geoff is a person with fantastic communication skills and a massive amount of moral fibre (Moral fibre is the inner strength to do what you believe to be right in difficult situations) this simple explanation of moral fibre is what The Company is built on.

Just imagine that you are moving house and you have been in this house for 20 years. Well, not only do the team at Advance Removals carefully list everything that you have, but they take their time discussing each and every item with you. It may be an old china cabinet that’s been in your family for years, maybe it’s a 2 year old Harley Davidson, if it matters to you then it matters to Advance Removals. Armed with your perfect world, they spend a lot of time working behind the scenes selecting the best removalist for your move, it may not be the cheapest, or maybe it is. But they will select the best option for you.

Never before have I seen a team of people working with the best interest of the customer and the removalist at the forefront of their minds. Nothing is more disappointing than things not going right at such a stressful time in your life. As a matter of fact research has shown that moving house is one of the most stressful of life events, right up there with divorce and bereavement. So why on earth wouldn’t you actually put your next move in the hands of a company that handles it for a living? They are not the “truckie” looking for his next drive out of town, or to make enough to service his truck. They are not emotionally attached so can objectively work through exactly what needs to happen in a step by step manner, in a professional way.

These guys actually get a kick out of doing the right thing by people; you should see them cringe when they know they can help with a move, but for the sake of a small amount of money a customer decides to take all the stress upon themselves.

It doesn’t end when a truck is booked to do the job, as a matter of fact that’s when Geoff and his team click into action, making sure the truck is on time and making sure the packing is going fine, he has very carefully worked out the route the truck will take, he knows how big the truck is and further more whether it will be backing down your driveway or loading on the street.

Who else does this, I really have no idea but when I found out that there is a company out there that loves dealing with both people wanting good service and also dealing with those great blokes that actually do the hard work, I knew it had to be me, it just fits. Think about it for a minute, what we do is join the dots between a painful stressful time and an exciting happy time. Why would you not take advantage of such a great service?

Packing up boxes, navigating removal trucks and fighting through traffic are just a few of the many issues that can cause you to want to rip out your hair and call it quits. However, that pain is generally over within a day (or a few days if you’re really unlucky) and you can usually feel satisfied with a job well done and celebrate your new home.

However, if you are planning a removal to a metropolitan city this year, there is a whole new world of hurt that adds on to the previous; starting with simply deciding whether to rent or to buy. In order to help you with making the choice (and saving you from white hairs!) I have outlined some of the major points of both arguments below.

To Rent?

According to the HIA New Home Sales report, home sales have dropped 5.3 % in August of 2012 overall, while sales dropped 2.6% in South Australia. That is something important to think about. If more people are opting out of buying their homes, what does it mean? Is the economy getting worse or are houses getting too expensive?

Not to Rent

Luckily, house prices are not getting too expensive. In fact, the opposite is happening. According to The Sydney Morning Herald (2012), overall housing prices have dropped a considerable “2 percent in the June quarter” overall, while NSW has seen a drop of 2.3 %. So in that case, homes are actually becoming even cheaper to accommodate the lack of demand. But if houses are going down here, then that means rental home prices should be going down as well, correct?

Not to Rent

However, that is not completely true. According to The Sydney Morning Herald (2012) “average national rents are still climbing – with 0.4 per cent growth in the June quarter.” It appears that although apartments are usually the cheaper alternative to owning a house, the increased demand has made the value of apartment housing go up, especially in Sydney.

To Rent

With the decreased public opinion of the future of Australia’s economy, renting provides a healthy option for staying out of debt. With rentals, you don’t need a loan, thus saving yourself from rising interest rates in the future. Buying a home however, is always a risky venture that can affect your life if you lose your job or go through financial hardship.

Not to Rent

However, since renting does not require the same amount of interference from banks (via loans, signing over deeds, etc.), it also leaves many people vulnerable to con artists. Scammers have popped up in Sydney and other areas, selling property that isn’t theirs to naive new renters. In the end, the renter ends up with a pocket full of nothing while the con artist disappears with hundreds to thousands of the victim’s money.

That is the Question….

In conclusion, the choice is really up to you on whether you want to take the risk of renting or buying. But based on current trends, there appears to be a diamond in the rough in regards to buying homes. At a time when demand is low, a true entrepreneur may be able to find a goldmine within the dropping housing prices. Time will tell.

Regardless of whether you choose to buy a home or an apartment, rest assured that you will be able to find a capable removalist in Sydney, Melbourne or any other Southern Australian city or suburb. Advance Removals provides a long range of services such as gardening, pet removals and cleaning services that will ensure that you have at least one less worry on your special day.
