Meet the Team

In working with Advance Removals on your next move, you have direct access to the owner of the company as well as our experienced team. Using tailor-made software we keep on top of every stage of the move and we pride ourselves on our excellent communication skills so you are always in the loop.

We take the trouble to get to know you so we thought you’d like to know a little bit about us.

Geoff Williams

Geoff is the owner of Advance Removals and has well and truly put his own personal stamp on the company. Having spent 15 years in retail furnishings and 20 years in the rural communication industry (managing a radio station) Geoff adopts a similar dedication to effective communication at Advance Removals. He sets very high standards for interacting with customers and can often be heard quoting Epictetus: “We have two ears and one mouth so we can listen twice as much as we speak.” It’s a mantra that has served him well in delivering solutions for the unique requirements of every single customer. It also makes him a pretty good husband!

As well as being a fantastic listener, Geoff has got one of those great radio voices (perhaps he picked up more radio skills than he thought during his time at 5TCB). This is ideal for soothing people who call up in a panic because they’ve forgotten to book the removal truck.

Outside work, Geoff has been known to join the lycra brigade, donning his cycling shorts in an effort to keep fit. He is also interested in regional development, supports children’s charities and research into Men’s Health and enjoys Australia’s fine wines.

David Gabarretta

David has worked at Advance Removals for two years, and as a self-proclaimed ‘chatterbox’ he simply loves talking to people. This is useful both in his role as the ‘face’ of Advance Removals on the reception desk and because he spends most of his time on the phone.

Great at putting people at ease, David has a friendly and helpful manner that really takes the stress out of the moving process. He takes time to understand the unique requirements of each customer, and his hobbies of coin and stamp collecting reveal his meticulous nature. You’ll also find you can have an involved and interesting conversation with David about films – he used to be a video wholesaler.

Fact-finding skills and eye for detail make David the perfect partner of choice during a move, with an exemplary ability to squeeze out the best deal and manage complicated arrangements. Finally, his skills as a keen darts player give us a great opportunity for a pun about hitting targets (which we will resist).

David Clough

David joined the team at Advanced Removals in 2012. Two David’s in the office can be confusing so at work we call him “Cloughie” (pronounced ‘Cluffy’).

Cloughie comes to us with a wealth of customer service experience mainly in the motor industry where he sold cars and trucks, and worked in customer service departments. Genuinely interested in learning about people, Cloughie enjoys getting to know his customers so that he can better understand what services will suit their needs. Cloughie also has experience in the transport industry and this helps him assist his customers in getting the best service for their moving needs. He loves to chat to customers and removalists alike and still has contacts in the car transport sector.

Outside of work Cloughie enjoys spending time with his wife of 20 years, Penny, and their 2 beautiful teenagers Henry and Georgi. The kids enjoy sports so Cloughie and Penny spend a lot of leisure time supporting them. And if you need to know where the best golf courses are near your new location be sure to ask Cloughie!

Chris Robinson

Chris is our book-keeper and she’s been with us since 2006. One of the things she values most about Advance Removals is that she feels part of a friendly team, who pull together to get things done.

Balance is an important part of Chris’s life in more ways than one. Her tight organisational skills at work and home alike means she has been a treasurer of local clubs – she is currently heavily involved with Walkerville FC, where her partner is Secretary.

Gardening, reading and BBQs are all important leisure time pursuits and so are the ‘pokies’ – Chris plays once a week (with a strict budget, naturally) and once a year for over 20 years has joined her friends from Walkerville FC on a bus trip to Mildura/ Wentworth. It may not surprise you that Chris’s hot moving tip is to ‘keep things organised’.
